DR. FRISHKEY DDS
Dr. Frank R.L. Frishkey received his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Texas Dental Branch and affiliated hospitals in the Texas Medical Center, Houston in 1987. Dr. Frank Frishkey rapidly became Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1989. Before entering his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery he attended the University of Texas Dental Branch, Houston from 1979 to 1983. While in Dental School, Dr. Frishkey received multiple scholastic honors to include the Alumni Association of the University of Texas Dental Branch Clinic Award in April of 1981 and again in June of 1982; The Texas Dental Association Clinic Award in April of 1982; and The American Dental Association Recognition of Contributions Award in April of 1982; and The American Dental Association Recognition of Contributions Award to the 123rd Annual Session (Table Clinic) in November of 1982. Upon graduation from dental school in 1983, he received the University of Texas Dental Branch Department of Endodontics Recognition of Superior Proficiency in Undergraduate Endodontics, and The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award.
Dr. Frishkey has been practicing the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital since 1987 and has been a part time Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Dental Branch since 1989. Dr. Frishkey has always been interested in continuing education, which led to the formation of two study clubs. The first of which was the Memorial Southeast Implant Study Club started in 1994. It was design to enhance the practitioners knowledge of Implant Dentistry. This concept of a "university without walls" was transformed into the Knowledge Bank-The Seattle Study Club Southeast Houston in 2000. This study club is part of a national organization of study clubs dedicated to excellence in clinical and treatment planning skills, combining lectures from noted experts and clinical courses designed to improve the art and science of dentistry. In addition, Dr. Frishkey has lectured on different aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery here in Houston as well as in the United Kingdom with audiences ranging from his fellow Oral Surgeons to dental students.
